CAI’s packaged, automatic ready-to-use Steam or High Temperature Water Generator uses thermal fluid as the source of heat. This provides several benefits over an ordinary steam or water boiler. A boiler uses combustion gases to transfer heat into a vessel or tubes containing water. The gases are poor heat carriers, so large areas of heat transfer are required. This means that vessel must be large.
In contrast, thermal fluids are far better heat carrier than gases, and thus require much smaller heat transfer surfaces. Therefore, the size of the CAI steam or high temperature water generator is significantly smaller than the ordinary steam boiler performing comparable duty.
High Temperature water up to 400° F and high pressure steam up to 500 psig can be generated - while the thermal fluid operates at atmospheric pressure. The heat transfer fluid circulates safely through the CAI steam generator even if the water level is low and tubes are exposed.
Typical applications include:
- Provide Plant Steam Demand
- Heat Sink for Thermal Incinerators Systems
- Thermal Oil Heaters with excess capacity
Control Systems are designed for maximum safety - they satisfy all current IRI, FM, NFPA, UL, OHSA requirements (and any special requirements specified by purchaser)
